The Opportunity

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel interested to work as Enumerators in the following departments: Health (10 positions), Education (10 positions) and Humanitarian, Child poverty, Child protection (20 positions). Successful candidates will make a roster from which Enumerators will be picked from when required in the next 24 months. The Enumerator will be responsible for a range of duties from managing designated distribution points, collecting data, and data entry. Specifically, the duties will include; cash distribution beneficiary sensitizations, managing help desks, conducting onsite monitoring, data collection, data entry, and solving centre specific issues that may arise.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • At least Diploma level qualification in any field, these with Bachelor’s Degree will be preferred
  • Previous experience working as Enumerator/research Assistant in a research organisation or any NGO. Those having worked with SCI before will have an added advantage
  • Self-starter
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office and knowledge of online data collection platforms
  • Experience working with Kobo collect, Survey CTO or ODK Collect
  • Accurate keyboard skills and ability to enter data at the required speed
  • Knowledge of community entry techniques
  • Ability to care for electronic gadgets
  • Experience in working with communities
  • Result-oriented, able to set priorities and meet deadlines within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good command of English and Chichewa
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to intensively work in rural areas.
  • Ability to solve problems in a community setting
  • Good organisation including good time management
