The Opportunity

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of 

Livelihoods Field Facilitator 

under PAST Project in Mzimba. The role Holder shall be responsible for working with ultra-poor households, stakeholders and partners on all VSL and Entrepreneurship, Social Protection, Gender skills focused technical details of project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in coordination with the Project Officer. He/she shall be responsible for conducting sensitization meetings, community mobilization and delivering technical support and oversight to community agents, mentors, and artisans.  He/she shall work in collaboration with the Project Officer and Government partners to reach out to the targeted participants and will take full responsibility of coordinating and make all logistics to ensure successful implementation of all activities.


In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Finance, or Enterprise Development, or other appropriate social and development field such as Social Science, Development Studies, Community Development or Rural Development
  • Those with additional tertiary academic and professional training in the relevant subject will have an added advantage.
  • 3 years’ extensive experience in extension activities, community mobilization, VSL, Entrepreneurship and Marketing
  • Good communication skills and team work
  • Must be well organized and capable of completing multiple tasks before a deadline.
  • Willing to intensively travel in rural areas.
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter and creative.
  • Community mobilization and sensitization skills
  • Knowledge in SAVIX
  • Training in VSL and Marketing Community Agents
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders in the program
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Sound report writing skills
  • Valid motorcycle driving license
