Job Function:

Job Function To lead and align the Sales and Distribution Operating Company through the development and implementation of a functional strategy and operating model, enabling a high performance culture, client satisfaction, Principal satisfaction, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.

The MD is a well-rounded individual with experience across financial management, taxation, accounting and general commercial matters including corporate governance issues. The MD devises strategic direction, implements tactical plans and the execution thereof through measurement of results and management of all company resources.


Key performance areas:

  • Define and implement a strategy, operating model and policies for a value-chain function in the context of the organisational, strategy, operating model, relevant corporate governance and risk profile.
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout the value chain.
  • Define and control a value chain function’s budget.
  • Conduct financial planning and develop commercial models to enable sustainable and comprehensive business initiatives.
  • Align and integrate a value chain function with internal & external client/Principal requirements as well as market trends and other business intelligence.
  • Implement the structured engagement with specific strategic clients and Principals.
  • Support and empower people that design and implement change within a value chain function.
  • Align people’s performance goals to support the achievement of a value chain function strategy.
  • Manage talent and succession.
  • Lead the organisational unit’s people agenda.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Relevant Degree – MBA, Degree in Sales and Logistics Management
  • At least ten years experience in a running a sales driven organisation, of which five to seven years at an MD level.
