Oxfam in Malawi is recruiting for the position of Programme Officer – Health Governance, and all qualified Malawians are encouraged to apply. The purpose of this position is to enhance the management of the Health Governance Project that aims at promoting effective delivery of health services in Malawi for the achievement of Universal Health Coverage. The role aims to provide strategic and operational inputs for project cycle management (design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects). The Programme Officer (PO) will be a key member of the program team and will work closely with other program team members and overall leadership of the Governance Program Manager.
What we are looking for
Applicants should at least possess the following:
A primary degree in health, social sciences, humanities, economics or other relevant field.
3+ years of experience in health governance work, preferably within a large development or humanitarian organisation; experience in health governance work preferred.
Be knowledgeable on institutional frameworks governing health service delivery systems in Malawi.
Be knowledgeable principles of Universal Health Coverage and how those are applied in our local context.
Knowledge of programme development and delivery approaches, tools, methodologies and best practices;
Previous experience in handling a donor funded project
